More coaching candidates

Next up is 27-year-old Linebackers Coach Sean Duggan out of Boston College.  He was a player for Boston College who also jumped headfirst into coaching, making a splash on Hawaii’s coaching staff just two years after graduation. While there, he impacted the playing careers of both Jahalani Tavai and future Denver Bronco Jerrol Garcia-Williams. He worked with the University of Massachusetts and Ohio State University before taking up with head coach Jeff Hafley and the coaching staff of Boston College.

Our third candidate is 27-year-old Outside Linebackers Coach Deonte Gibson from the University of Akron. After a solid college football career with Northwestern University, Gibson debuted as defensive line coach for Eastern Illinois. That defense finished among the top 30 defenses in the nation. That performance landed him a new opportunity with the University of Akron in 2020. Gibson is opening eyes among coaching circles as an effective teacher, tactician, and even as a relentless recruiter.

Last but not least is 28-year-old Linebackers Coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe from the University of Kansas. After just one season as defensive quality control coordinator, Kansas head coach Les Miles promoted him to outside linebackers coach. Of course, the name of the game in college football is recruiting, and Chidera Uzo-Diribe has been one of the best in school history. He worked with both the defensive line and linebackers from 2016-2018 at the University of Colorado and in 2018 participated in the Bill Walsh NFL Diversity Coaching Fellowship program with the San Francisco 49ers.
