Reason I

The LA Rams have embraced the new NFL onboarding rule of pulling young men onto the roster late in the NFL Draft, after the NFL Draft, or from other football sources, coaching them up for a season on the practice squad, then slipping them into the 53-man roster on the following season.

The LA Rams do not have the draft capital to pull off selecting plug-n-play types. So they need to choose players form the ‘some assembly required’ pile. Of course, anyone who has done so knows that there is always a risk of missing pieces, and oftentime the completed assembly does not end up like the picture on the display case.

Hot. LA Rams must try out these 3 undervalued veteran FA centers. light

ILB Christian Rozeboom was signed after the 2020 NFL Draft. He stands 6-foot-2, and weighs a solid 230 pounds. A product of the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, he had quite an impressive showing there, putting up 475 tackles, eight interceptions, 16 deflected passes, eight forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and six quarterback sacks.

Of course, all that did was get him in the door. He actually outplayed drafted linebacker Clay Johnston in training camp.  Now, a year of the Rams’ coaching and training camp has produced a player ready to compete for playing time. Now, he’ll face competition.

ILB Derrick Moncrief is a former star from the Canadien Football League (CFL).  He is a 6-foot-2 220-pound linebacker who originally hailed from Oklahoma State University.  In three seasons, he amassed 126 tackles, four quarterback sacks, five interceptions, and one forced fumble. Moncrief did get some special teams play in 2020
