The LA Rams have been unspoken rivals of the Philadelphia Eagles since that fateful 2016 NFL Draft landed quarterback Jared Goff first to the Rams, and quarterback Carson Wentz second to the Eagles. From that moment on, the two teams vied to be the first to win the ultimate prize.  The Philadelphia Eagles struck first, winning Super Bowl LII thanks to backup quarterback Nick Foles. The Rams followed suit the following year but lost Super Bowl LIII.

Now both teams are without their 2016 drafted quarterbacks. That seems awfully fast, doesn’t it? In just five years, both teams have independently reached the same conclusion. They cannot win a Super Bowl with their 2016 drafted quarterback. So is it time to collaborate?  Perhaps not THAT friendly. But nothing says that the Rams can’t shop from the Eagles waiver wire, does it?

Per our sister website, Inside the Eagles, writer Jon-michael Salter believes that the Eagles need to move on from veterans Zach Ertz, Alshon Jeffrey, and DeSean Jackson. The sentiment is echoed by FanSided’s Russell S. Baxter, who believes that the Eagles should part ways with DeSean Jackson, OT Andre Dillard, and WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.

So what does this mean for the LA Rams today? Time to wait. Allow some cookie crumbs to fall off the Iggles table and be ready to pounce on them. Sign one or more of them to one-year, prove-it-to-us contracts and hope to wring the last bit of football juice out of players who’ve been relegated to the discard pile. Worst case scenario: they come to camp and compete for a roster spot while pushing the unproven youngsters to show their mettle.
