JJAW?

Now the next prospect to salvage from the Philadelphia dumpster is former Stanford WR J.J. Arcega Whiteside: Drafted in the second round of the 2019 draft, he also endured an injury-plagued 2020 season that limited his playing time. Still, he played his college ball at Stanford and earned a reputation as a “red-zone nightmare” for his clutch TD receptions in the short end of the field.

The chemistry never developed for him in Philadelphia. The Eagles needed him to deliver on day one, and he, like many rookies, simply did not do so. And when the fans in Philly turn on you, they don’t give you a second chance.

JJAW fell by the wayside.  Injuries hurt his production, and his production hurt his relevance. And just like the two wide receivers mentioned above, things just never seemed to click for him in Philly and he never developed much chemistry with either Wentz or Jalen Hurts.

He’s young, just 24 years old, and was signed to a $700,000 plus contract so he’d be a bargain for the Rams. The lanky receiver was highly touted as being a prototypical clutch receiver. Stafford needs weapons and a change of scenery that brings him home to the West Coast might just rejuvenate his nascent career. You know the Rams, folks. The more weapons? The merrier.
