LA Rams mock draft snags snarler center in 2021 NFL Draft
By Bret Stuter
The LA Rams are looking long and hard at prospects who may be available in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. So what is the game plan for the LA Rams? Well, it all starts with getting better, and that is what 32 NFL teams seek in that three-day marathon of choosing rookie talent to augment the team’s roster.
It takes a bit of strategy, a bit of luck, and a lot of patience and rolling with the way the draft board works out. In any mock draft, there are three challenges to the model used to simulate realistic factors.
There is the need to realistically anticipate how other teams will draft before the LA Rams step up to the podium. And then there is the presumption of knowing which positions the Rams will prioritize with their early picks. Finally, there is always the chance of the Rams trading out of their spot.
To help eliminate any bias, I employ the Draft Network Mock Draft machine to simulate the way the 2021 NFL Draft will play out. That ensures that any bias I may have to hope a specific prospect falls to the Rams is eliminated. It also has the added benefit of reacting to players that I target by the Rams early by targeting similarly positioned players, much like the way it happens in the real draft.
While the simulator supplies a list of team needs, I have my own list of needs for the Rams. And as far as trading? While the Rams may convert an early pick into multiple later picks, I address that possibility by ignoring the likelihood.
