The LA Rams have gone up to bat and swung for the fences with the move to replace former accomplished quarterback Jared Goff with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The challenge now is how will they customize the offense to be ‘Stafford friendly’?  You see, some commenters have correctly pointed out that, while Stafford appears to be an upgrade, he does not have a similar track record when appearing in post-season competition.

There are no guarantees that the LA Rams defense can reach the top of the NFL rankings once more. So this year, the Rams must be prepared to jump the rankings on offense. But if it were that easy, wouldn’t the team have already done that?  Well, it’s a bit more difficult than just saying it will happen.

Equipping an offense to win will take more than just changing quarterbacks, and hopefully, the LA Rams are already underway with finalizing a plan to be a bit more comprehensive. After all, the problems that shunted the Rams’ ability to score had several layers to them.  The Rams found more than expected challenges rushing the ball for short yardage. Surprisingly, Goff was a more accurate passer in the red zone in 2020 than Stafford.

So the LA Rams cannot just rely upon Stafford to score. The Rams need to add players who won’t stop churning their legs, reaching out, until they cross the plane for the touchdown. To do that, the team will need more than a whiteboard, a veteran quarterback, and a new year. So who are undervalued players who can help the Rams score more effectively? Here are six under-the-radar free agents who can help the Rams do so in 2021.
