The LA Rams have many options with their late second-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. By many accounts, the 2021 NFL Draft seems to be a deep draft class in some positions, but the level of talent quickly falls beyond a point for many key positions. So to draft well, the Rams must be willing to roll their priorities based upon how the draft board unfolds for them.

This draft is incredibly deep at the wide receiver position, which is rather remarkable considering how thick the talent level ran at receiver in 2020. The Rams actually signed draftable players well beyond the draft at wide receiver a year ago.  Of course, in any draft, the LA Rams have overlayed the talent available when they pick with their underlying team needs.

However, since the Rams are considered championship contenders, they can get away with selecting the best available player.

As the Rams most likely won’t resign stud strong safety, John Johnson III, who is looking to become the highest-paid safety in NFL history. The Rams will likely depend on second-year safety, Terrell Burgess to fill the void and line up next to 2020 rookie starter, Jordan Fuller.

Don’t rule out the possibility for the Rams to grab a high-profile defensive lineman during the draft. While shallow at the position,  the Rams may not pass up the chance to add another defensive tackle with future Hall of Fame defensive tackle, Aaron Donald. This ensures that no team can break through the trenches of the Rams defensive line.
