Wake Forest EDGE

The Rams lack depth in the outside linebacker position, which has been established quite early as a number one priority this offseason. However, the Rams can get a player who can play within the outside and the trenches with maximum power and a high motor.

At a monstrous 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, Carlos “Boogie” Basham Jr has been the most physical edge rusher in the ACC for the last three seasons. A very thick frame, with an underrated amount of athleticism. In 2018, he had 4.5 sacks with 60+ tackles and 11 tackles for loss. Presenting his explosive quickness and agility off the line as just a redshirt freshman.

2019 was the year that Basham showed his true potential as a push rusher. Erupting for over 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, and an astonishing 18 tackles for loss. Achieving ACC first team All American honors for his maximal amount of production for the Demon Deacons.

In 2020, Boogie produced four forced fumbles with five sacks to finish his college career. He continues to close run gaps with intense explosiveness and overpowering anyone in his path. His upper body strength mauls offensive linemen, manifesting his gritty style of play along with his aggressive motor. Skyrocketing his draft stock with a stellar performance at the senior bowl with his dominant strength and agility to get to the ball carrier and quarterback.
