LA Rams HC McVay likes way Stafford ‘changes his arm slots’

Time for a cool change

Were these all of the qualities that McVay felt were lacking with the previous quarterback? That’s hard to say. But there is no doubt that the possibilities of what McVay can do with Stafford under center are already flooding the head coach’s mind with X’s and O’s.  The Rams want to barrage defenses again, just as they had done in 2017 and 2018 before defenses learned that speed to the Rams quarterback stymies the attacks.

So the LA Rams have a new cannon in the pocket. Let’s visit the video now and listen to Sean McVay talk about Stafford.

Now what it does say are what the Rams saw in Stafford to warrant the exchange of Goff and three draft picks. What does warrant it?

The real juice comes at the 2:15 mark, where McVay talks about quarterbacks who can see the field,  move and manipulate coverage, and change their arm slot, all of which Stafford gives to McVay at the quarterback position. Then he reiterates the great wide-field vision that allows him to see the field, speed it up if he has issues.  Whew. Let’s take a breath here.  That’s a lot of stuff.
So what is going on here?
