The LA Rams still need help at adding some players. If you look at today’s roster, there are three areas that need…ahem…immediate attention. Immediate is an understatement in my mind. The Rams are at the end of another march, and there are noticeable holes in the current roster.  Not just thin, holes.

Holes that are so prevalent that the question about who will play the offensive center, outside linebacker opposite Leonard Floyd, or cornerback with Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams will get a response of: um…, or we’ll-have-to-see-who-we-get-in-the-draft, or simply somebody-will-need-to-step-up.  Me? I’m guilty of the stepping-up response.

You can’t run a restaurant’s menu exclusive on what’s fresh from the suppliers that day. You cannot stock the kitchen pantry based upon the sales at the local grocery store. Even if the Rams believed that a rookie is perfectly acceptable without a rostered player as an option, the team cannot possibly know which positions of need, if any, will be available and valuable with the 57th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

More. Let’s talk LA Rams explosive offense. light

So even as the Rams prepare a variety of strategies for the 2021 NFL Draft, they will need more free agents to pull off any plans of drafting quality players. The key to any draft is to draft for depth or future needs, which takes the sting away from any rookies who simply cannot pull it all together in time to shine in their first NFL season. So where, and at whom, should the LA Rams be looking?
