A low-risk high-reward player
Okay, now let’s go to the other extreme. OT Isaiah Wilson is struggling with life right now. Not just NFL life, but his hopes of playing professional football are unfortunately fading very fast. He was a 2020 first-round selection by the Tennessee Titans but struggled mightily throughout the season. In the end, he played just three offensive snaps.
The season was so bad, that the Titans were content to trade Wilson to the Miami Dolphins for a 2021 seventh-round pick. Of course, the trick with any trade is to get the player to show up for the physical. When that doesn’t happen, the team has no choice but to part ways with the player.
We have waived T Isaiah Wilson.

The problem with some players who get to the NFL is the fact that money and fame come before the ability to process it. And for his former teammates at Tennessee, it is hard to watch a former teammate crash and burn due to their own personal choices.
Sad to see what’s going on with Big Zay but let’s be clear this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a player refuse to get out of his own way. Just haven’t seen it happen this fast and in this light. Damn man...

So why take a chance? Listen, this young man may not be ready for another chance. And if he is not, then there is no team and no situation that can prop him up into an NFL career without his own dedication to make it happen.
But if he is ready to forego the parties and get serious about the NFL, the LA Rams are certainly equipped to help him do so. He would be surrounded by mature and dedicated players who command respect like Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, and Andrew Whitworth. The Rams’ new offensive line coach, Kevin Carberry, is himself fresh from NCAAF. That would give Wilson a coach who may be able to connect with him.
Connection is crucial. Wilson has to want an NFL career. If that happens, then the LA Rams can serve as the bridge from where he is today to that career. Will Wilson be worth it? If he can focus the incredible amount of talent that he has on blocking in the NFL, he could be a Pro Bowler. But for now, he will need to reprove himself. That means back to the end of the line in terms of earning his place in the NFL. Hitting rock bottom can reshape a person’s perspective. This could be the moment for Isaiah Wilson to turn things around.
