Strike two
The LA Rams have discovered that they will be without the services of defensive back Tyrique McGhee, who was expected to compete for playing time in the 2021 season at a minimum. Well, violating the NFL Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances has placed the kibosh on those plans. And worse yet, he is now a repeat offender, suffering his second transgression less than six months after his first run-in with the NFL and the subsequent disciplinary action.
He had strike one in 2020 when he was suspended without pay for two games (weeks) over his first transgression.

McGhee is eligible for reinstatement on Monday, Dec. 7, following the Rams’ Week 13 game at Arizona.
Now he is on strike two. As with most wrongdoings, the second transgression is much more severe. Even worse, he is now at risk of derailing his entire NFL career before it ever gets started.
Per Rams, practice squad DB Tyrique McGhee has been suspended without pay for the first five games of the 2021 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. Can still participate in preseason/training camp.

This is the second tier of penalties, and he is now at risk of suffering an even greater penalty with a third offense.
