Which of LA Rams coaching staff plays biggest role in 2021?

Secondary: Second chapter
Finally, there is another critical position coach, the newly promoted secondary coach Ejiro Evero. He worked wonders with a pair of rookie safeties a year ago. His work to get both Jordan Fuller and Terrell Burgess NFL-capable with virtually no training camp proved to be so huge for the Rams’ success in the 2020 season.
Will he be able to call down a similar lightning bolt upon rookie cornerbacks this year? Talk about entering the blast furnace from the get-go. Now that he has signed up for the larger role, he will need to give immediate input as to how the LA Rams handle building around the returning DB Darious Williams and All-Pro DB Jalen Ramsey. Well, Williams for 2021 only, that is.
Of course, it doesn’t stop there. He’ll need to develop a plan for using DB David Long Jr., Donte Deayon, and finally make a decision on suspended CB Tyrique McGhee. Then, to prioritize additional DB needs, whether via free agency or the 2021 NFL Draft, or even undrafted rookies. It is certainly a desk with a rapidly filling inbox. So, the timing of promoting Evero to secondary coach could not have happened soon enough. He needs to be moving as fast as the commute on the freeway.
But it can’t be a checkerboard strategy. With the Rams looking at losing Darious Williams in 2022, and now Tyrique McGhee in meltdown mode, the Rams will need a solid trio of cornerbacks to call to duty next season. And that explains why the Rams have held at least four pre-draft meetings with cornerback candidates. The Rams will continue to bank on replenishing the ranks from the overlooked and highly motivated young men eager to make the jump from the NCAA to the NFL.
