The LA Rams have some positional needs, as do 31 other NFL teams. And this is the time of year that NFL analysts will do their darndest to convince you that their opinions of a particular prospect’s chances to succeed in the NFL are a near certainty. Only, it’s not. The NFL Draft’s only certainty is that each prospect has a chance.

So the Rams must overcome that challenge, but that is not the entire picture. You see, the Rams need a center from the 2021 NFL Draft so obviously that the other 31 NFL teams can certainly anticipate the Rams pick at 57, at 88, and at 103.  Among those three picks, the Rams are likely to select an offensive center, a cornerback, and an edge rusher.

So what if the LA Rams fooled the NFL, and pulled off a draft-day trade or perhaps a series of draft-day trades, that reinforce key positions for the team and all the Rams to focus upon a more organic method of choosing the best fit for the team from the available talent on the draft board?

The Rams have gone to the well of trading for the notable reserves from other NFL teams and had success. The Rams traded a future fifth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for offensive guard Austin Corbett. The Rams claimed cornerback Darious Williams off the Baltimore Ravens waiver wire, and he has panned out.  And so, now is a good time for the LA Rams to make inquiries for trades come draft day. Like who?  Who indeed.
