Edge rusher

The first prospect we want to look at from the Big-12 NCAA football conference is a versatile Edge rusher from the University of Texas named Joseph Ossai (6.27-grade per NFL.com). Ossai is versatile because he can play with his hand in the dirt, in a two-point stance, and can play both outside and inside linebacker. He is quality duct tape to any defense, and that alone will put him atop most draft boards.

He’s a new wrinkle in hybrid, a Justin Hollins type, and he has all of the physical skills to play a variety of defensive roles.  He stands a solid 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 256-pounds. In 29 games for the Longhorn defense, he racked up 165 tackles, 30 for a loss, 11.5 quarterback sacks, three defended passes, one fumble recovery, and two interceptions.

Ossai is familiar to many Rams fans because he is one of the players most often chosen with the 57th pick in most mock simulators (if he is still on the board). He’s an incredible value for the LA Rams at 57, as he could single-handedly help the team at defensive end, outside linebacker, and inside linebacker with just one pick. I love his fit for the Rams defense, and based on what I’ve seen from all of the mock draft results many have posted on Twitter, so do you.
