Limitless potential

Okay, so he will be brought along slowly. But when will he be done? Well, that’s a tough call because he is an athletic freak, and he boasts a rare combination of size, speed, and power that is more frequently found at other positions in the NFL. But how will his athleticism help him catch passes, move the chains, and score in the Rams offense?  So glad you asked.

LA Rams head coach Sean McVay loves the mismatch and misdirection strategy. But a player like Jacob Harris adds a new chapter to the offensive playbook. Harris is the type of player who can commit the Rams offense to an obvious play, and yet still not be effectively defended. He is a huge target at 6-foot-5, and that immediately generates all sorts of possibilities of using him as an integral piece in the Rams red zone offense. UCF found touchdowns came easily when they targeted Jacob Harris, as nine of his 49 receptions were indeed touchdowns.

He is a big guy who can stretch the field. He is nearly a foot taller than Tutu Atwell, and seven inches taller than veteran DeSean Jackson. He runs a 4.39-second 40-yard dash, which is a mere .07 seconds slower than fellow rookie Tutu Atwell, and just .04 seconds slower than veteran speedster Jackson. Seriously. He blazes.

Who was another 6-foot-5 target who ran incredibly fast, who also once played with Matthew Stafford?  Calvin Johnson was that 6-foot-5 receiver who ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash time. Can Jacob Harris achieve anything close to Megatron’s NFL career?
