In the past several years, the LA Rams have grown rather accustomed to the tightening of the belt when it comes to the NFL Draft, as the team has used draft picks leading up to the event like pocket change, emptying their pockets of them along the way. By the time the draft arrives, the Rams are left scrambling with the task of turning a handful of picks into eight to ten NFL-worthy rookie prospects.

That is not how the 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up. In fact, the LA Rams appear to be swimming in draft picks. Unfortunately, the majority are in rounds six and seven, but that will at least the team from trading back for more picks next year right?

It is all part of the master plan, so it seems, as the LA Rams watched seven players leave via the 2021 NFL Free Agency market. Now, keep in mind that the NFL limit for compensatory picks to one team is four for free agents. The rules have also provided for an additional pick to the LA Rams for losing executive Brad Holmes to the Detroit Lions to be their General Manager. So that all means that the LA Rams will likely end up with the maximum number of awarded compensatory picks for the 2022 NFL Draft, four plus one. Now, the question is, where will they be?

Well, we know that the LA Rams will benefit by the second of two third-round compensatory draft picks in 2022 due to the hiring of Brad Holmes as the GM of the Detroit Lions.
