LA Rams: 2022 NFL Draft holds plenty of intrigue

Awarded 2022 Compensatory Picks
The LA Rams will quickly add to their draft picks in 2022, thanks to the addition of five likely awarded draft picks. Of course, the tough part of the equation is that these picks are only possible after the loss of a valued player to another team.
It’s well-timed because the Rams face a similar situation over free agents in 2022. Of course, we’ll discuss the Rams veterans whose contracts expire in 2022 in the next slide, but the restoration of the roster also includes that part where the organization must restock and redevelop a significant crop of incoming rookies each year. So where will the other half of the 2022 NFL Draft rookie class be found? Why here, of course:
Projected awarded comp picks
Round 3 – The Rams will likely be awarded a second third-round compensatory pick for the loss of Director of College Scouting Brad Holmes to the Detroit Lions as their new General Manager.
Round 4 – The Rams currently project to be awarded a fourth-round compensatory pick for the loss of safety John Johnson.
Round 6 – The Rams currently project to be awarded a sixth-round compensatory pick for the loss of cornerback Troy Hill.
Round 6 – The Rams currently project to be awarded a sixth-round compensatory pick for the loss of outside linebacker Samson Ebukam
Round 6 *(Updated, Rams can only receive 4 awarded compensatory picks as a result of losing free agents in one year, so they will likely be awarded their third sixth-round pick) – The Rams currently project to be awarded a sixth-round compensatory pick for the loss of tight end Gerald Everett
The five anticipated awarded compensatory picks will likely fall thusly: Third-round one (1) pick, fourth-round one (1) pick, sixth-round three (3) picks. Total awarded compensatory picks: Five (5) picks
