But, but what about Blanton?
The LA Rams have worked with tight end Kendall Blanton for several years, first signing him up after the 2019 NFL Draft out of the University of Missouri. Kendall Blanton is an immense man, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 260-pounds. That alone makes him a player to keep on the radar. Unfortunately, it has not helped the young man stick on the Rams roster yet. But could third time be a charm?
He made the LA Rams practice squad in 2019 after showing up in the LA Rams preseason games. In fact, he likely helped quarterback John Wolford make the team with this superb catch in the end zone. But by the time 2020 roster cuts arrived, he found himself off the Rams roster and back onto the practice squad once again.
So how’s he looking this year? Hungry. Like a big ole bear ready to take down anything that moves for his next meal. And yes, with his size, if he makes the roster he will have a chance to connect with quarterback Matthew Stafford repeatedly. Like this l’il training camp treat…

From what we can tell right now, Kendall Blanton has a real chance this year. He knows the LA Rams offense, and man, he is such a huge target. Showing up in training camp and preseason games would be huge for the Rams, who will need to have someone handle a bit of the load at tight end vacated by Everett.
Blanton has worked hard for this chance, and it’s awfully tough to overlook a guy who is back for his third attempt to make the LA Rams roster. It’s early, but with Hopkins’s reported demotion and with Jacob Harris sidelined for several weeks, this could be the break that Kendall Blanton has needed. But there is one more tight end to talk about.
