Wide receiver
The LA Rams added wide receiver J.J. Koski from Cal Poly after the 2020 NFL Draft. The receiving talent in that draft was deep and quality players fell to the ranks of the undrafted. Koski is a fast route runner, a speedy version of Cooper Kupp, or a taller version of DeSean Jackson
Why this player?
J.J. Koski was added because he had NFL potentially play at the wide receiver. But from the moment that the LA Rams added quarterback Matthew Stafford, his speed suddenly grew exponentially in value. Suddenly, he is a natural backup to veteran DeSean Jackson and a sturdier (if not as fast) version of rookie Tutu Atwell. So far he’s caught 11 of 15 passes for 97 yards.
What should you be looking for?
He’s already put up a 19-yard reception and a 20-yard reception, respectively so any completions of 20+ yards would be stacking good catches. Koski has that uncanny way of softly putting up receiving yards to end up among the leaders of the team. Look for him to continue that effective and efficient manner of getting open and moving the chains in this one.
What constitutes a great game?
While he has seemingly no problem moving the football up and down the field in open spaces, J.J. Koski would put the icing on the cake with a touchdown reception. The LA Rams offense can move the ball and are focused this year upon finding playmakers this year who can score. Putting up points on the scoreboard will check the last box for J.J. Koski.
