LA Rams: 3 offensive vets who explode in debut on Sunday Night Football

The LA Rams have a roadster of an offense. And all through the sloppy weather of OTAs, training camp, and preseason games, the organization held fast on keeping everything under wraps. This one is a beauty, or so rumors have it. It’s the debut of the Matthew Stafford era for the LA Rams. But while all eyes will focus on the new play-caller under center, there are plenty of reasons to focus attention elsewhere.

Victory will require a team effort in this one. For the offense to excel, 11 players on that offense have to play well. The result may be a great game from LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, but to do so, the entire offensive line will need to show up and play their best. Running backs will need to grind out first downs. Tight ends will need to block and catch.   The wide receivers will need to get open and catch passes.

No, this is nothing new. It’s what each NFL team goes over thoughout OTAs, practices counting hours throughout training camp, and attempts to execute in each preseason game. What has changed is the attention of fans paid to the players who execute with the precision that allows the offensive skill players to show up in a big way on fantasy football teams across the nation.

Of course, all eyes will train upon veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.
