Wide Receivers

So what of the LA Rams wide receivers?  There are Robert Woods, DeSean Jackson, Van Jefferson, and Cooper Kupp? Surely Cooper Kupp with over 100 yards and a touchdown, would rank well in Fantasy Football for week one, right?  Um, he came in at 11th-place. His teammate, Van Jefferson, who had that long touchdown reception? He came in at 19th place.

The LA Rams distribute the football very effectively. If one wide receiver is hot one week, the following week the Rams will feature another receiver. Similar opportunities, similar production. While that becomes a bit predictable over the course of a season, it does allow the Rams to spin the wheel each week to put another weapon in the spotlight. This week, I expect that Robert Woods will do the most damage.

In week one, the Rams launched deep balls to Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson. This week, the Rams will try a similar strategy but will target Robert Woods and DeSean Jackson. How can I be so sure? It was the pattern used the past two seasons. That is not to say that the Rams will suddenly abandon Kupp or Jefferson at all.

I believe that this one will be an offensive slugfest. Will the Rams outdo last week’s 34 point performance? They could in this one, particularly if the Colts put up points quickly. The Seahawks put up 28 points on the Colts. The Rams could get into the 40 point range. So I believe that the Rams wide receivers will all have serious potential in this one to score at or better than 10 points.

FANTASY PROJECTION: WR Robert Woods  (15.7 points)
FANTASY PROJECTION: WR DeSean Jackson (10.4 points)
FANTASY PROJECTION: WR Cooper Kupp ( 9.4 points)
FANTASY PROJECTION: WR Van Jefferson (2.9 points)
