Rams Injury Report vs Colts Week 2

No Rams players have been ruled out for today’s game against the Indianapolis Colts due to injury. Both OL Tremayne Anchrum (knee) and OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (shoulder stinger) remain on Injured Reserve. Rookie OLB Chris Garrett remains in quarantine on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list for the second week in a row.

The LA Rams have called up OLB Justin Lawler and ILB Micah Kiser to balance out the roster for this one. This is the second consecutive week for Lawler’s activation from the practice squad, and it is the maximum number of players who can be activated per game week. The Rams certainly need help on their pass rush once again.  Justin Lawler played six defensive snaps in Week 1, as well as in all of the special team’s coverage plays. Kiser will likely join Lawler on special teams.

The Indianapolis Colts will face the LA Rams without offensive lineman Braden Smith (foot) or cornerback Xavier Rhodes (calf). Seven players are listed as questionable for the Colts, including: offensive lineman Quenten Nelson (foot/back), offensive tackle Eric Fisher (Achilles), DE Kwity Paye (hamstring), S Khari Wills (illness), S Julian Blackman (back), WR Parris Campbell (abdomen), WR Michael Pittman Jr. (ankle). Of the group, OT Eric Fisher and S Khari Wills did get in a full practice on Friday.

Darrell Henderson / Sony Michel workload

The LA Rams had another week to work with newly acquired RB Sony Michel. This week the role of Sony Michel has been downplayed a bit. That’s not to say that Michel won’t see the ball. In fact, the Indianapolis Colts would be a perfect team to run Michel 10 or more times against to ensure that Michel is a go for Week 3. Of course, Henderson will remain the featured running back, but if the Rams manage to control the clock a bit better in this one, I can see a significantly larger role for Michel

Bears vs. Rams Odds, Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick Week 2

WynnBET’s Preseason Week 2 NFL odds have the Rams down to a 3.5 point spread.  Many believe that the LA Rams will hand the Colts a loss rather handily, I don’t believe it will be an easy matter.  The money line on this one finds the Indianapolis Colts as the underdog at +165. The Rams sit as the game’s favorite at -190. To predict the Colts to win this one outright, bet $100 and win $165. For the Rams? You need to cough up $190 to bet to win $100 on this one. The Over/under is set at 48.0 set at -110.  The Rams dropped from a 4.5 point favorite, and the over is up from an opening 47.5.

If you did grab the Rams at the early 4.5, you have an even better chance to grab them here. I still like the Rams at 3.5 points in this one. The Colts will get their second opportunity to stop the McVay-based offense, having seen the Seattle Seahawks version of it in Week 1. I believe that the Colts defense will be aggressive, trying to stop the Rams deep ball with a fierce blitz package. I expect that they will try to run early, and then work an aggressive passing game to stay close.

The Colts want to stay ahead or close on the scoreboard to keep their running game important in this one.

Take the Rams at -3.5 in this one, and don’t look back.
