Rams Winner: Offensive line

The LA Rams offensive line had faced two difficult defenses, and have only allowed two quarterback sacks so far. That’s not bad considering that many still view this offensive line as the weak link to the team In reality, it is a strength so far. Are you surprised by that fact? If so, you shouldn’t be.

The LA Rams 2020 offensive line performance was good enough to end the regular season as the third-best offensive line unit in the NFL. Projections for 2021 had the Rams offensive line among the NFL’s Top-10, with an impressive projection at eighth-best.

Keep in mind that the Rams have only drafted one player for the offensive line in the past two seasons, offensive tackle Tremayne Anchrum. Of course, the Rams have added offensive tackle A.J. Jackson to the roster after the 2021 NFL Draft.  But the players who are delivering so far this year are delivering quality work.

Will it keep up? Hopefully, everyone remains healthy this year. Even as the Rams seem to have shored up the backups, there is no substitution for continuity, as the NFL offensive linemen are one of the most difficult positions to play without strong communication and cooperation among teammates. Now that the Rams seem to be effective, the best thing that can happen is for the same five guys to play alongside one another for the rest of the 2021 NFL season
