Stafford starting to catch NFL analysts attention

Of course, a lot can happen over the course of the 2021 NFL season. In prior years, that had an ominous “Watch out!” tone to that type of thinking. But this year? The upside may be more likely than the downside.  After all, is this a speeding train heading for deadman’s curve, only to jump the rails and crash? Or is this more like a snowball rolling downhill, gaining speed, size, and strength to the point where it becomes an unstoppable force?

He’s a curious take. Per ESPN Stats & Info, Kurt Warner had 894 yards in his first three starts of his 1999 MVP season with the Rams. Right now? Quarterback Matthew Stafford is just 296 yards away from shattering that mark.

NFL Executive Producer/Analyst Greg Cossell likes what he’s seen from LA Rams (starts at 5:27 mark) quarterback Matthew Stafford. He joined Colin Cowherd in the assessment of NFL quarterbacks heading into Week 3. So let’s dive into what he says.

He simply likes what he’s seen, calling him a “big-time thrower”.  He says that he can make any type of throw – including pace, touch, and a power-arm.  Cosell does not shovel flowery praise onto an NFL player. His compliments of Stafford were based on sound research and facts. So far, the performance of Stafford in the Rams offense is better than expected. We’ll learn more about Stafford in Week 3.
