How will LA Rams shuffle their roster deck this time?

Outside linebacker
Of course, one of the key positions in need is that of the outside linebacker spot. The Rams just claimed Jamir Jones off the Pittsburgh Steelers waiver wire. While he could see playing time on special teams, I don’t expect that we will see much from him.
The Rams may be willing to go with a rotation of just Leonard Floyd, Terrell Lewis, and Chris Garrett. In Week 3, Lineups.com recorded the Rams OLB snap count as four for Chris Garrett, 49 for Justin Hollins, 58 for Leonard Floyd, and 34 for Terrell Lewis. Estimating the LA Rams to be on the field approximately for approximately 70 defensive snaps, I expect that the distribution for 140 defensive snaps to be 60 for Leonard Floyd. 50 for Terrell Lewis, and 30 for Chris Garrett.
Of course, Jamir Jones did see playing time for the Steelers. He could play exclusively on special teams. Or he could see a toke 4-5 defensive snaps to help give the starters a rest. I’m very pessimistic that Jamir Jones sees the field of play in Week 4. If he does, it will be on special teams in the coverage unit. Jones is a big powerful man, so getting him onto the field to tackle on punt and kickoff coverage units may be his ticket to bigger roles on the Rams defense.
Do the Rams have an emergency outside linebacker in case of emergency? That really remains to be seen, but let’s hope that it never comes to that.
The Rams are going to work hard to activate outside linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo right now. Having Obo suited up for this one allows the Rams to be a bit more conservative with Terrell Lewis and Chris Garrett’s snap counts. Even getting 20 snaps out of Obo would allow the Rams to limit Lewis to 40 and Garrett to 20, both of which are far more realistic and manageable.
