Nobody is kicking sand in LA Rams Brian Allen’s face anymore

What just happened?
The sudden shift by the LA Rams configuration of the starting offensive line caught everyone by surprise. Thankfully, The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue was quick-minded enough to jot down her thoughts, and capture the mindset of Brian Allen when the Rams reached the decision to promote him to the starting center role.
Brian Allen took over the starting center reps about four days ago. After practice he was pretty blunt about his over 18-month journey to get there (including recovering from COVID in early 2020 and a nasty knee injury). Thought some of his comments were worth sharing. pic.twitter.com/LmZOloSQn4

Brian Allen has no reason to hold back now. For nearly two years, few have held much back when it came to diminishing his chances for playing in the NFL again, let alone for starting for the LA Rams. But he is back. He is starting. And he is facing some of the NFL’s best in the process.
The LA Rams center has faced some of the NFL’s most accomplished defensive linemen. Seriously, some of the top names in the business. He faced Chicago Bears Akiem Hicks, Indianapolis Colts DeForest Buckner, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vita Vea. So far, through the first three games of the 2021 NFL season, he has allowed just one NFL sack. Just one.
Brian Allen has allowed only 1 sack while going up against Akiem Hicks, Deforest Buckner, and now Vita Vea. Absolutely phenomenal pic.twitter.com/CLsm2M6jjM

He’s not just holding his own. He’s holding together the LA Rams offensive line. And he’s doing it in such a way that the LA Rams starting quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is lighting it up for the LA Rams.
