Bold prediction II
So far this season, second-year wide receiver Van Jefferson has shown a markedly improved ability to catch the ball and put up big yardage. In Week 5, look for him to go out and claim his first 100-yard game.
Matthew Stafford can read the defenses quickly and make pinpoint passes, but he has already shown a tendency to look the way of Cooper Kupp far more often than other receivers, even when Kupp is catching less than 50 percent of the passes thrown his way. Surely someone has talked to someone about spreading the ball around by now, right?
Well, the matter has been discussed in the open and publicly, to the point where the Seahawks will be looking for the Rams to throw at Robert Woods as well. Throwing it where they ain’t should make Van Jefferson the ideal receiver for this one.
Jefferson runs great routes, can fly down the field, and is a perfect option if the primary receiver is covered. The Rams will want to jump out to a lead in this one, and Van Jefferson is that type of receiver who can put points up on the scoreboard with one catch.
Jefferson is averaging 17.4 per reception so far this season. That and two touchdowns in his first four games for the Rams so far make him a dangerously effective receiver. Look for a big game, his best of the season, in this one.
