Bold prediction III

Great players know how to bounce back in the NFL. Matthew Stafford did not exactly set the world afire in Week 4. When the Rams needed his best game, he put his worst on the football field. Not that it was bad by any means. I mean, he still threw 26 of 41 times for 280 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. But it was not his typical performance

So what does that mean for Week 5? It means that Matthew Stafford will throw for over 400 yards, that’s what.

Historically, Matthew Stafford has a lifetime record of 1-3 against the Seattle Seahawks. Over that span, he’s completed 107 of 166 passes for 1068 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Of course, he was playing a superior team at the time and likely was forced to try forcing the ball against a great secondary.

That is not the case here. He has a solid offensive line, an arsenal of able-bodied receivers, and he is up against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The two teams may be quite familiar with one another, but the Seahawks have yet to face this LA Rams offense led by Stafford.

The Rams will try to control the clock in this one. But that will not stop head coach Sean McVay from putting the rest of the NFL on notice that this offense can score points. Don’t look for the Rams to take their foot off the accelerator in this one. Stafford will throw for over 400 yards and may put two Rams receivers over the 100-yard mark in the process.
