The 2021 LA Rams are at 4-1 and are a very good football team. Can they get better? Absolutely, and every indication is that this team will do exactly that.  But how will the team improve is a vital question in the month of October 2021.

There is every indication that the team will do so, but how is the nefarious question. You see, there are plenty of opinions of exactly how the team should do so, some benign and some quite controversial.

For example, you could argue successfully that this team simply needs to be steady-as-she-goes for the remaining 12 games, and you could be perfectly correct. After all, the Rams faced 2020 NFL Playoff teams in four of five games so far this year. The one exception? The 5-0 Arizona Cardinals, who are the only team to defeat the Rams so far this year.

At that pace, the Rams should emerge 7-1 from the month of October and could finish the 2021 season with as many as 14 wins. Still, even a 14 win season is no guarantee of the Top-seed in the NFL playoffs and therefore could mean playing a playoff game on the road.

Young players waiting their chance

Other options might include promoting some younger players on the roster to more significant roles. We know that the team had plenty of positives to say about young defensive stars like Robert Rochell, Terrell Burgess, Ernest Jones, Bobby Brown III, and Chris Garrett.  Offensive stars like WR Tutu Atwell, Ben Skowronek, TE Jacob Harris, and RB Jake Funk are hoping to find a reason to suit up for offensive snaps.

Still, these LA Rams are heavily invested in young stars for the future and are clearly in no rush to hasten the pace.  Nor should they to be honest. Playing veterans ensures consistency, as well as creates learning opportunities for the younger players on the bench. Of course, that being said, are the Rams really ‘done” with roster moves?

I’m not convinced. With each week, the likelihood of a playoff berth for underperforming teams lessens. With each week, the need for the Rams to add more talent becomes more focused.

Will the Rams be active at the NFL trade deadline?  Well, we know that the Rams are holding things together right now with duct tape at the running back, outside linebacker, and now cornerback positions.

Rams GM Les Snead is always ready to improve the team. He simply needs the word and it happens. Will the word be given in 2021?

Trending. DeSean Jackson’s incredible 30.7 yards per catch could be a record-setter. light

It really feels like it, doesn’t it? I mean, it would be such a Les Snead move to make a trade this year at the deadline.
