10 – Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans love the running game, but they live and die by that defense.  LB Rashaan Evans may not have delivered to his projected potential, but he has all of the attributes to stiffen the LA Rams defense almost instantly.

Evans is a 6-foot-2 232-pound linebacker who was once the 22nd player chosen in the 2018 NFL Draft. So in terms of potential and talent, he has it all. He even had a solid rookie season, getting him playing time in all 16 games and starting seven of them.

He continues to be a starter for the Titans ever since, but his once brilliant play has faded, and his current 2021 Pro Football Focus grade has fallen to a pedestrian 32.7.  So why trade for him?

Well, for starters, he is a linebacker who can play a very physical style of football. While inconsistent in terms of his performance, there is no doubt that he would most certainly benefit from playing in the shadow of All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald. Placing a young talent-laden burley ‘backer on the Rams defense in the middle would be an instant upgrade.

Would the Titans part ways with their starter? Well, no is an easy answer, but the Rams certainly did so from their own starter, Kenny Young.  Even now, the presumption is that the Rams have created a void to fill. Is Rashaan Evans the next step? He certainly could be on paper.  But let’s continue shopping.
