17 – Philadelphia Eagles

With the recent news about offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth’s knee being a bit banged up, perhaps it’s time to revisit trading with the Philadelphia Eagles for offensive tackle Andre Dillard. He is reportedly still on the trade block and the Eagles will surely listen to offers of any type now.

The LA Rams should be investigating what level of compensation the Eagles want for Dillard now.  As we had reported earlier, Andrew Whitworth is suffering from a banged-up knee after Week 7. While I hope that the Rams sit Whitworth for Week 8, there is no guarantee that they will. The Rams offensive line is anchored by Whitworth.

While the team has already anointed Joseph Noteboom as the obvious successor, who then backs up Noteboom? After all, he too has experienced several injuries and has found himself playing at both the left guard and left tackle position.

If the Rams have any interest in trading for an offensive lineman, it’s now or never folks.

Andre Dillard is a 6-foot-5 315-pound behemoth who originally hails from the West Coast from the state of Washington. Dillard may have been on the trade block, but he was forced to start this year at both left tackle and right tackle and played very well in four starts so far this season. The LA Rams have not exactly invested heavily in their offensive line in recent years, but the opportunity to acquire a versatile starting-caliber lineman should be enough to change that.
