The LA Rams are trying to get several rushers back from an Achilles Tendon injury, so why not bring in an NFL player who has been there and done that, Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack? There are quite a few logical reasons to pick up Mack for the Rams offense.

For starters, Marlon Mack is an accomplished veteran running back who still has plenty of rushes left in his game. It’s just that he was the featured running back for the Indianapolis Colts through 2019. But he fell to an Achilles Tendon injury, and the Colts have moved on without him.

That means that an excellent rusher is gathering moss on the Colts bench. Furthermore, Ian Rapoport reports that he has requested to be traded. The LA Rams are an ideal landing spot. Why?

Well, the LA Rams rushing attack has not met expectations this season. The team has managed only 668 rushing yards in seven games, averaging less than 100 yards on the ground per game, and just 3.7 yards per rush (YPC).  Mack is averaging 3.4 YPC but has only handled the football 28 times this season.

The main reason for adding Mack is to help encourage Cam Akers, who is himself trying to recover from an Achilles Tendon tear. Mack is a seasoned veteran who can run and catch. He has played at an elite level. If the Rams are willing to bet on Akers, then why not double down and bet on Mack too.
