6 – Los Angeles Chargers

Making an offer to the LA Chargers for seldom-used running back Justin Jackson may not be the headliner trade that you may want from the LA Rams as the NFL trade deadline approaches, but acquiring a 6-foot-0 200-pound running back with four years of NFL experience is always a step in the right direction.

Jackson was drafted by the Chargers with the 251st pick of the 2018 NFL Draft from Northwestern. Since arriving at the Chargers, he has consistently shown up on both offense and special teams, always willing to do whatever might help the team.

That includes kick returns, which Jackson has done rather well. In seven games, he has returned five kickoffs for 107 yards. He also contributes as a gunner on coverage units. With former kick returner, Jake Funk being lost to the LA Rams for the rest of the season, the addition of Jackson would be a good choice.

While he has four years of NFL experience, he does not have any wear-and-tear on his legs. He has played in just 485 offensive snaps, and in just 249 special teams snaps. Spread over four seasons, that is a fairly light body of work. Would he be played harder on the LA Rams? Well, if he earned a larger role, of course.
