Rams roster

A headcount of the active roster reflects 52 players but reflects the two practice squad defensive backs Tyler Hall and Antoine Brooks Jr. who were activated for Week 8. The practice squad reflects 12+1 players. With an expectation that both Hall and Brooks revert to the practice squad, the Rams currently have three roster spots to fill on the active roster, and two roster spots to fill on the practice squad.

I’m going to go out on another limb and suggest that if DE Jonah Williams clears waivers, he will be re-signed to the team’s practice squad. So who will the Rams be adding?

Well, we know that the Rams have designated Darious Williams to return from IR. Right now, the team has 21 days of allowing him to practice and get back into football shape before bringing him to the active roster. The team rushed Ogbonnia Okoronkwo back in one week when the team needed outside linebackers. Do the Rams need DWill back for that Sunday Night Football game?

After Williams is back, I’d look for the Rams to consider a wide receiver and a veteran return specialist for the team. For the receiving role, the Rams must not shop the waiver wire, available free agents, and practice squads for promising young talent.

For a return specialist, the team will most certainly look for a veteran to get the team through the storm right now. Who might that be? We’ll look for some names in a moment. For now, how will the Rams set up their lineup for the Tennessee Titans on Week 9?
