There was no magic supplement that somehow boosted the play of LA Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp. There was no off-season training camp that helped Kupp to fine-tune his skillset. He didn’t work 24 by 7 at a Gold’s Gym, undergo genetic modification, or even go vegan. Cooper Kupp is the exact same player that he has always been. Yet, suddenly, he’s the hottest player in the NFL, Fantasy Football, and among sports talking heads.

For starters, he is leading the NFL this year in receiving yards and in receiving touchdowns. So the numbers that he is putting up in 2021 are not due to something new he has done. It was not because he self-improved. He simply found synergy with his new veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. And the results are, to put it simply, spectacular.

Of course, it helps to have one of the NFL’s leading quarterbacks throwing to you. But that small yet crucial fact is seldom mentioned when factoring in who are the best receivers in the game.

He’s had one helluva start so far. He’s tied his season career-high scoring at 10 touchdowns in just eight games. On top of that, he has nearly bested his season career-high in receiving yards. And he is entering just his ninth game of the season.

That is a special season for the 6-foot-2 208-pound product of Eastern Washington University. Through eight games he is averaging 115.5 yards per game, putting him in the range of putting up nearly 2000 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns this season.
