When you’re hot, you’re hot
Will Cooper Kupp continue to be a hot offensive threat? It seems that way. Even as defenses have tracked the Rams’ tendencies, so too have the Rams counter-punched and freed up Kupp once more. That has allowed Kupp to remain atop the NFL wide receiver rankings, both in terms of touchdowns and in terms of receiving yardage.

Of course, when a player seemingly comes from nowhere to suddenly burst onto the NFL: scene in terms of a record-setting pace, it doesn’t take long for folks to start noticing. That newfound respect and attention have garnered a lot of positive press, leading to Cooper Kupp receiving his second NFC Offensive Player of the Month in just the second month of the 2021 NFL season.

Kupp has done all this despite facing the very stout pass defense of the Arizona Cardinals (fourth-ranked). Of course, he will face them once again, as well as the San Francisco 49ers twice (third-ranked), and the Green Bay Packers (sixth-ranked). By season’s end, he will have earned his totals.
Of course, regular-season performances are only as good as the subsequent post-season performances. If the Rams set regular-season records, but are shown the door after a disappointing one-and-done appearance in the playoffs, what good will that do anyone? The key is to get a high seed in the NFL Playoffs, and then win-win-win.
