Rams Game Day Sunday: Rams vs Packers odds and prediction for NFL Week 12

After two consecutive humiliating beatings on the prime-time televised stage – the first on Sunday Night Football at the hands of the Tennessee Titans and the second on Monday Night Football at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers, the LA Rams entered the BYE week with a lot of soul searching on their To-Do list.  There is no shame in losing games in the NFL. There is plenty of shame in not learning from those losses and correcting mistakes.

Even after two humbling losses and a BYE week, the LA Rams remain among the Top-tier team in the NFL. But the team has fallen from among the best to among the best seven teams. The Packers have been struggling themselves as of late. The team has won just one of their last three games and is suddenly starting to feel the pressure of a rather successful Minnesota Vikings team, a team that just defeated the LA Chargers and Green Bay Packers in their last two games.

Both teams want to turn the corner in Week 12, but only one will do so. The Packers are 3-0 against the NFC West so far and need only one more victory in Week 12 to complete the sweep. If the LA Rams have any hopes for post-season success, they must expect to play on the road for three games. So far, the team’s 4-1 road record gives evidence of enjoying modest success playing out of a hotel. This week’s contest could give the team a lot of confidence for the playoffs by winning in Lambeau Field, a site this team may face once more later in the season.

The Rams have an unforeseen edge in this one. For the past two weeks, the team has been relentlessly described as a ‘soft’ football team. One NFL analyst described the entire organization as ‘pretty, not gritty.’ That is the type of pre-game rhetoric that does tend to amplify a team’s focus and determination.

The team’s last trip to Lambeau Field ended in heartbreak. While this game does not hold the same significance, I cannot see anyone wanting to repeat that experience.
