The LA Rams are fighting for their playoff lives right now and losing the battle. Thanks to a three-game losing streak, the organization has ripped the optimism from the hearts of their fans and stuffed doubt and despair back in. You might think that the team is getting a chance to right the ship by facing the Jacksonville Jaguars, now at 2-9, in Week 13? Well, it don’t come easy. You know, it’s don’t come easy.
But I’m not convinced that will play out. By all rights, the team should have been able to defeat a decimated Green Bay Packers team that dolled out a humbling defeat to the team less than a year ago. The Rams had every reason to show up and dominate. Instead, the team suffered stupid penalties, humiliating miscues, troubling turnovers, and one more gimmicky game that was sorely lacking in toughness.
The Jaguars are the type of team that can beat the reeling team this week. They’ve beaten the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills, and have surely paid attention to the secret of how to beat the team. Force the offense to make mistakes. Then a quick and conservative offense. You’d think that the coaching staff would have found a way to beat it, now having lost to the same dink-and-dunk three times in a row.
But the team is not the same team that began the season any longer. This is a desperate team, swinging for the fences with each pitch and ignoring the strikeouts. Rather than fix the fundamental flaws, the team has compounded the failure by trying to out-gimmick the competition. The problem is that even those gadget plays are blowing up in the Rams’ face.

Recommended Bets:
Take the Rams on the Moneyline (+100) to win outright
The betting line opens early with the LA Rams showing up as a huge favorite. Over the past two years, it’s been best to avoid the Rams as huge home favorites, and this game is no exception. I would be more comfortable with the Rams as a four-point favorite in this one.
The Over/Under may seem tempting enough at 47.5 points, but the team has some injuries to sort out. Matthew Stafford is reported banged up but will start. Odell Beckham Jr. is working through a hip pointer, and Ben Skowronek is fighting through back spasms. Even RB Darrell Henderson is fighting through a quad strain. We’ll revisit the scoring line when we see how the Rams players look later in the week.
There is no way I would bet on the team at any line better than a seven-point favorite at this point. No way.
Jaguars vs Rams Prediction Week 13
These LA Rams are a bit underwhelming, to put it mildly. But they can win this one. Still, amidst a three-game losing streak, I believe that many have retreated into the prove-it stage of belief now. I know I’m there.
Oddsmakers set an opening line of 13.5 points, favoring the Rams. I truly do not expect that to hold at that level unless the Jaguars suffer a sudden outbreak of positive COVID-19 testing. With the roster where they are operating right now, I can see them win this game by eight points. Something like 24-16, or 30-22. But a 13.5-point margin of victory? I don’t see it.
Our recommendations:
Take the Rams on the Moneyline (+100) to win outright
Be patient on the Over/Under until later this week.
