The LA Rams are reeling amidst a three-game losing streak.

Likewise, the team is looking for a spark, any spark, to turn this thing around. That’s not unusual, as the team is stuck in the midst of a three-game losing streak. While that may be something new for this team, the current record is something that this team has experienced before. In terms of historical GPS’ing the Rams, they are on track for a similar season to their 2020 NFL season finish of 10-6. They are tracking better than their 2019 season (9-7) so far, yet trailing both their 2018 (13-3) and 2017 (11-5) seasons.

Still, games don’t win themselves. The LA Rams must do more than show up physically. After losing three games in a row, this team has lost every benefit of the doubt. This team cannot count on a lucky bounce of the football. This team has to show up and execute flawlessly on each play.

It’s great news that LB Justin Hollins has entered the 21-day activation window for the team because that is where he excels.

Now the question becomes, where will the LA Rams play him?

Rams roster question

It’s been a long and winding road since Justin Hollins was injured. When he fell, the Rams’ outside linebacker position rotation was a bit ‘tight’ to say the least. The team opened the season with Ogbonnia Okoronkwo on short-term injured reserve, uncertainty over Terrell Lewis’ workload limits, and a rather raw rookie in outside linebacker Chris Garrett.

Since then, the team has signed free agent Jamir Jones and traded for veteran Von Miller.  With the Rams currently set at six players at the position, and at a position where the team has historically been comfortable going with four players, the Rams will be hard-pressed to get Hollins into the rotation even as he rejoins the team’s active roster.  Instead, Hollins may be woven into a rotation at inside linebacker, giving the team an added boost in the middle as the heart of the defense has come under siege by opposing offenses once more.

The team needs a spark. While Hollins’s return may not occur quickly enough to help the team defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13, he could be back in time to face the Arizona Cardinals once more. This team needs something, or someone, to rally around. Right now, everyone is eager to welcome LB Justin Hollins back from IR. While he may not provide that spark, he is the only chance that the team has right now.
