Nothing comes easy for the LA Rams it seems. When the front office was adding new players to the roster, the team ran aground of three determined and talented opponents. Now that the team and coaching staff appear to have acclimated everyone to the playbook and one another, the roster has been devastated by a COVID-19 outbreak, and at last reports, 16 players were assigned to the team’s COVID-19 reserve list.

That not only forces the team to plan to compete in a game without 16 starters/role players, but due to the team shutting down the training facility and working remotely, players who will start or play significant roles in Week 15 are not able to line up next to their teammates and work out the mechanics.

If all things were equal, the home team would be strongly favored to win. But after an emotional win in Week 14, and a depleted roster as late as Wednesday, the team will be hard-pressed to remain a strong favorite for Week 15.

Recommended Bets:

Until we have a handle on who the Rams will and will not have for this game, we will not be recommending any wagers.

The betting line opens early with the LA Rams showing up as a slight favorite. I’m convinced that the roster is not quite baked into the betting line yet. This one is more about which team is healthier, and right now the Seattle Seahawks have no players on their COVID-19 reserve list. That is a huge advantage to the Seahawks, who at current estimates with face approximately 50 percent of the Rams starters from the ranks of backups or practice squad.

The LA Rams have added players to the COVID-19 reserve list for each of the past five days. Until the team finds a way to halt new positive tests, there is little chance to expect any of the existing players to make it back in time for Week 15. Even still, there is no call to panic. Even now, the roster has plenty of talent, and knowing the situation, the Rams at least have a better chance of dealing with roster shortages in time to be competitive for Week 15.

Seahawks vs. Rams Prediction Week 15

The 9-4 LA Rams host the 5-8 Seattle Seahawks in a game with plenty of significance to both teams. The Seahawks must win out to have any hope of competing in the NFL Playoffs. The Rams must win, short-handed or not, to have any hope of winning the NFC West Division Title.

While the Rams are on a two-game winning streak, the Seahawks are on a two-game winning streak of their own. They have beaten the San Francisco 49ers and then won on the road against the Houston Texans.

Right now, the storyline to follow is how quickly players can test off the COVID-19 reserve roster. Right now, the secondary is the hardest hit with so many players testing positive. Perhaps a secondary story to follow is the likelihood of Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll retiring after this year. Will this be the last time he plays in SoFi Stadium?

Our recommendations:

We recommend waiting to see the fallout of the Rams COVID-19 outbreak before placing any bets on this week’s game.
