With the LA Rams Week 17 contest rescheduled into the early time slot of the NFL Game Day Sunday, you may find yourself at a loss of what to do with yourself. However, the contests that fill the second half of game day NFL Sunday? Which ones matter to LA Rams fans?

Thankfully, we already have that topic scouted out for you. In Week 17, later games offer any number of exciting NFL angles that may hold some interest to Rams fans. How so? Well, the only way to know that is to read on.

Detroit Lions at Seattle Seahawks (underway)

While this game has no bearing on the playoffs, nor on the LA Rams trajectory, this one is worth a look-see as it pits former Rams players against former Rams players. So what? Well, if the Detroit Lions can pull off the on-the-road upset, look for the Seattle Seahawks to blow up the team and start over.

A loss would raise the Lions to 3-12-1 and drop the Seahawks to 5-11. With Seattle facing the Cardinals next week, they could end the season at 5-12, and that would be plenty of justification to look at a rebuild. With few draft picks, Seattle would likely be looking to do so with new leadership. This could be Seahawks HC Pete Carroll’s finals season in Seattle.

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (Sunday Night Football game)

Do you believe in any given Sunday? If you do, then this 5:20 pm PT start game is right up your alley. While it’s a later start, Rams fans will find it interesting because a Green Bay Packers loss in the next two weeks opens the door for the LA Rams to sneak in as the top-seed of the NFC.

Of course, the Packers face the Vikings and the Detroit Lions. Anything could happen, so Rams fans should keep an eye on this one, however unlikely, to see if the Rams have a chance at that top-seed with a win in Week 18.

Houston Texans at San Francisco 49ers (underway)

How are you on believing in upsets? If that describes you to a tee, then this one could be your cup of tea. The Houston Texans are 4-11 entering Week 17, but are on a two-game winning streak and have defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars and the LA Chargers in the process.

The Chargers are at least on par with the 49ers. A Texans upset would strongly reduce the chances of the 49ers claiming one of the remaining NFC Wild Card berths. Of course, the 49ers will be fighting for their playoff lives in Week 18 if they lose this one. But, it’s still the 49ers.

Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys (underway)

Now that the LA Rams have won in Week 17, you will want to keep an eye on this one. If the Cardinals win, the LA Rams take over as the 2nd-seed in the NFC Playoffs. If the Cowboys win, the LA Rams lock the NFC West Division Championship. So it’s a win-win, right?

Well, a loss to the Cowboys would ensure that the Rams have home-field against Dallas if they meet in the playoffs. In fact, as the 2nd-seed, the LA Rams would only travel to play against the Green Bay Packers in any round of the playoffs. That’s certainly worthwhile in any win-or-go-home contest.

The LA Rams came from behind to win a thriller in Week 17. But why stop there? Why not check out some other games, and scout out the potential competition?
