Brady out, Stafford in?

In some ways, this is the news that is cause for celebration of an NFL quarterback who accomplished so very much in his career. Brady, even at the ripe old age of 44, could still sling the pigskin. He led the NFL in passing yards with 5,316, in passing touchdowns with 43, and in passing attempts with 713.  That was the last year of his NFL career.

But it’s not all about statistics. You see, in other ways, it’s a matter of “Ding Dong, the witch is dead.” Tom Brady admitted that he gets special treatment from the NFL officials. And his career was marked with controversy.

Brady was the primary reason for the NFL to create a new “Tuck Rule”, a ruling that overturned a fumble and allowed Brady to keep possession of the football. There was the Spygate scandal, where the New England Patriots were caught illegally videotaping upcoming opponents. There was even Deflategate, another NFL scandal where Brady was accused of directing football air pressure to be lessened so that he could get a better grip on the ball.

In any case, the Tom Brady era is over. Now, who will take over the reins of the NFL as the “Goat”? Who will dominate the NFL Playoffs?  Well, one quarterback who is certainly in the position to step out into his own spotlight is LA Rams quarterback, Matthew Stafford.
