Seattle Seahawks

On March 08, 2022, the Seattle Seahawks traded their All-Pro quarterback, Russell Wilson, to the Denver Broncos. The details were that the Seahawks traded Wilson and a fourth-round pick, and the Seahawks received Broncos quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks (one being the ninth-overall in 2022), two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick. With all those picks, the Seahawks are clearly in full rebuild mode.

Also, during the past week, Seattle released All-Pro inside linebacker Bobby Wagner. With journeyman Geno Smith and Drew Lock on the depth chart as the quarterbacks, there is little to fear from the Seattle Seahawks in 2022. There is some speculation that Seattle might turn around and use the picks received from the Broncos and send them to the Houston Texans in exchange for Deshaun Watson. News broke today, stating Watson is not guilty of any charges and is free from any criminal wrongdoing.

If that is the case, I can see the Seahawks picking up the phone to make a move. If they can acquire Watson, Seattle becomes an instant threat to compete for the NFC West. Still, the Seahawks have released Wagner, and are reportedly fielding offers for WR Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf. That does not sound like the strategy a team would use if they wanted to compete for a playoff berth in 2022.

Super Bowl Champs: LA Rams

If the NFC West division stays the same and no future trades occur, the Rams are the clear front runner to win the Division Title once more. Since Wilson left, QB Matthew Stafford is the best quarterback in the division. With the majority of the roster back, the Rams can easily find themselves back in the playoffs in 2022.

Also, if the Rams can find a way to sign Bobby Wagner in free agency, it can sure up their run defense and put an anchor in the middle of that solid defense. The Rams in the NFC West are going to be equivalent to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North, both teams dominating their division.  I can’t see the LA Rams not making the playoffs come next year.
