LA Rams Draft: Impossible athleticism yields extraordinary results

With the 254th pick
…of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams have selected Jalen Nailor, wide receiver, from Michigan State University
We all know that Rams HC Sean McVay will want to draft at least one receiver in the 2022 NFL Draft. But if he knows that the team will be able to select Michigan State Spartan wide receiver Jalen Nailor with their last pick of this draft, he may be okay with waiting until the seventh round to do so.
He is a bit bigger receiver than Tutu Atwell, but he has the potential to be a field stretcher just the same. Hailing from Palmdale, California, this 5-foot-11 186-pound wide receiver flashes incredible star potential:
That type of performance did not happen often, but when it did, wow. Just, wow. The problem with gauging his NFL potential is trying to determine whether those flashes are real, or just fool’s gold.
I’ll bank on real. Just check out this one-handed circus catch that reminds me of a certain veteran free agent wide receiver who the LA Rams want to re-sign by the name of Odell Beckham Jr.
He played 26 NCAA games, catching 86 passes for 1,454 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed 17 times for 163 yards and one touchdown. And yes, he even returned nine kickoffs for 179 yards and eight punts for 48 yards. But perhaps the most intriguing statistic is that he had never dropped a pass of 20+ yards in his four seasons for Michigan State. That was 40 passes.
He is a fast receiver, but is vulnerable to pressman and can be thrown off rhythm by physical defensive backs. He also has an injury history that he had to fight through in three of his four college years. While gifted, that injury history is enough to scare off a number of NFL teams.
While there are some ‘ain’t gonna happen’ prospects, that is the way my mock draft simulator rolled for me. I like the balance of this mock, even knowing that the Rams will not address offensive linemen in the draft.
