Looks like mums the word about LA Rams Draft meetings this year
By Bret Stuter
There were plenty of reports available about the LA Rams pre-draft meetings in 2020 and in 2021. But someone appears to have snapped the lid on that little cookie jar back into place already in time to shut down any reports of the Rams organization meeting with any potential prospects for the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft.
Even Walter Football, a draft analysis service that does excellent work in tracking NFL teams and which prospects they have individually met with, is coming up with bupkus for the LA Rams. According to Walter football, the LA Rams have met with Treylon Burks, Wide Receiver, Arkansas (at the NFL Combine), and Malik Willis, Quarterback, Liberty (also at the NFL Combine). The problem with those meetings? Both Burks and Willis are projected to come off the board in round one.
The folks at Trade Rumors also do a 2022 NFL Draft visits tracker. What do they have on the LA Rams as of April 9, 2022? Nothing. They’ve got nothing. That goes for Draft Ace as well. Nothing.
We’ve gone over last year’s incredible sources of Rams pre-draft meetings, from Justin Melo of the Draft network, Steven Haglund of the LAFB Network, and even NFL Insider and analyst Aaron Wilson. To date, all we have is a report of just one meeting with the LA Rams so far.
That’s not a lot to go on, particularly after having reports of 24 pre-draft meetings just one year ago. Curiously, three of the players who the Rams met with: WR Jacob Harris, WR Tutu Atwell, and RB Javian Hawkins, are now on the Rams roster.
Whatever the reason, the fact is clearly mum’s the word over who the LA Rams are meeting with before the 2022 NFL Draft so far. Our hope was to summarize the vast number of pre-draft meetings by the LA Rams with any number of prospects this year. But after scanning for several days and coming up with one wide receiver? I think that pretty much speaks for itself. The LA Rams, knowing that they are choosing outside of the Top-100 selections of the NFL Draft, have either chosen not to meet with anyone.
Or they’ve asked everyone involved not to mention any visits publicly. In either case, it appears as though this year will involve a great deal more guesswork before the draft, and a lot of surprises during it.
