The offensive line is another position of interest for the LA Rams in the 2022 NFL Draft. While the team did a great job of securing many of their offensive linemen to new contracts during the beginning of free agency, there were some losses, and depth is still an issue.

Dohnovan West represents a solution to both issues, as he has positional flexibility on the interior of the offensive line. West played left guard, right guard, and center during his time at Arizona State, which is something the front office has been shown to value.

More than just positional flexibility, West’s status as one of the youngest offensive linemen in the 2022 NFL Draft will be beneficial in his development. There is some development that will need to happen with him.

His lack of proper position and a limited number of starts, twenty-nine, in college means he has little experience playing a specific role, although most of his starts were at the center and correct guard positions.

West’s youth is also a slight hindrance in terms of his physicality because he still needs to grow into his body. An NFL strength and conditioning program should help with that problem, but it is worth noting in his pre-draft evaluation.

Dohnovan West is a prospect that fits the mold of what the LA Rams tend to look for in the NFL Draft, and he has the potential to compete for a role on the offensive line in year one. With the veterans that the team secured on the offensive line during free agency, there is help for West as he develops into a full-time starter.
