While the addition of Riley Dixon does provide an answer at the punter position, it is not a great answer at the position. The NY Giants offense was not very good in 2021, which left Dixon with plenty of opportunities to punt, and he was below average.

Punting for a better team in the LA Rams could help Dixon be more successful in 2022, but that is not a risk the team needs to take when they can draft a punter like Jordan Stout in the seventh round.

Jordan Stout can be an almost perfect replacement for Johnny Hekker in terms of their approach to punting and their skills at the position. Stout has a combination of accuracy and power necessary to punt for the LA Rams.

Stout does not punt the ball with the power of a Matt Araiza or the accuracy of Jake Camarda. He is the balance between the two, which is perhaps most important for the LA Rams, as the team will most likely need him to punt in situations that will require both skill sets.

He also brings the added versatility of being able to serve as an emergency kicker and throw the football as well as Johnny Hekker, and there is plenty to like about Jordan Stout.
