Special team targets (up to 2)

The 2022 NFL Draft class is chock full of NFL caliber punters, so the LA Rams will certainly add one to the mix after the draft if the team fails to draft a punter.  Who will they be? Well, that certainly will depend upon who is available. We had compiled a short Big Board for feasible punter prospects.

The LA Rams special teams were rather successful in 2021, finding very athletic players who excelled in special teams’ play in college. That process will continue into the 2022 undrafted rookies considered for the Rams special team coverage unit. Typically, the unit will consider linebackers, defensive backs, wide receivers, and tight ends, but anyone who can run with some level of speed and hit hard could contribute quickly.

The Rams were finally able to get their return unit back on track with the addition of WR Brandon Powell mid season. But the team will certainly look to expand their return force with more players who can catch and return kickoffs and punts.

Backup blockers are always in vogue for the LA Rams as the Rams have averaged two undrafted rookie offensive linemen per year over the past five seasons, and the 2022 draft class could be even more tempting as offensive linemen are quite deep and talented in this draft class.
