Offensive targets (up to 8)

When I look at the Rams current makeup of offensive linemen, the team already boasts 12 players. Of course, there is always room for more, so two or three more signings would not be a surprise. Of course, that number does not consider any drafted prospects. The front office will likely take a BPA approach to adding blockers, and many may fall out of the draft. Get ’em while they’re hot.

The team’s running backs are simply loaded with questions. While the team has six running backs who could factor into the 2022 NFL season. That makes adding a running during the draft a rather risky endeavor. But adding one or two after the draft makes some sense, as the team will want healthy legs just in case.

The LA Rams may not draft a quarterback, but I would be completely surprised if the team enters training camp with just three passers. Training camp involves a lot of work, and squads break up into various positional units. That means someone needs to throw to the wide receivers, tight ends, and even to running backs. If there is one position that could be considered a ‘camp body’, perhaps an undrafted quarterback signing would qualify.

The LA Rams will certainly be looking at the tight end position throughout the draft process.  In fact, the team has already met with Georgia State TE/FB Roger Carter, a blocking tight end type who is expected to fall out of the NFL draft.

I don’t believe that the LA Rams have ever met a wide receiver that they disliked. That being said, the roster is currently looking at just nine wide receivers. Even if the Rams sign FA Odell Beckham Jr., you can bet the team will round out the roster with as many wide receivers as possible. The Rams could sign up to four wide receivers, simply because they have so many ways to plug into the 2022 NFL Roster.

We’re not done with the undrafted signings. Now that we’ve set the forms, we will go about examining prospects we believe will fall out of the draft and into a contract with the LA Rams.
